Tiburzio – IGT Toscana
The grapes come from 15 year old vineyards that produce 0,80 kg of grapes per vine. The land is located 200 m above sea level and 10 km from the coast in the southern part of the Grosseto province, in the inland parts of Maremma. The soil is predominantly clayey and stony and is characterized by sharp temperature variations between day and night.
Spurred cordon with 3500 vines per hectare.
The grapes are harvested during the first ten days of September. The grapes are harvested manually, selected, placed in crates and then taken to the cellar.
Destemming and soft crushing followed by fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperature of 28° C for 20 days. Warm post-fermentation maceration for 4 days and ageing in 225-litre medium-toasted French oak barrels for 16 month. Refining in bottle for 12 month.
A deep red, at the same time luminous and saturated. A rich wealth of wild red berryfruit immediately greets the nose, followed by a broad array of spice. After a sapid and appealing attack, the elegance of the tannins, supple and compelling, is striking, and the aromatic sensations on the nose reappear here in full. A well-integrated balanced of its components give this wine a far from normal pleasureableness.
